![]() This is a nice upscale restaurant and the prices reflect the average dine-in prices of a normal dim sum place. However the reality of it is that dim sum is typically expensive in the bay area. I'm glad we got the chance to try it but I would skip next time.Ī lot of the reviews mention how expensive the dim sum is. The fish is meaty and just falls apart effortlessly. * smoked sea bass - buttery, flavorful, and smoky but not worth the $120 market price tag. * custard bun - the custard filling was way too sweet, and the bread was so sunken in. The interior is creamy from the taro and the savory meat pieces is an excellent contrast. * fried taro dumpling - the exterior is crispy and light. I love the skin to meat ratio, the dumpling skin is thin and chewy. * chives & shrimp pan fried dumpling - really sweet from the shrimp, perfect addition of chives. Unfortunately they don't include a chinese sausage which is what I look forward to most in each piece. * sticky rice - filled with lots of meat and soy sauce flavor. * har gao - the dumpling skin is thin and the shrimp tastes sweet and chewy. * siu mai - porky with a nice snappy texture. A menu is given for you to mark off your order. This review is solely for their dim sum.Īs of 4/12/23, they don't serve dim sum in carts. I wanted to give their dim sum a shot since it's been a while. I haven't been to Dynasty for almost 6 years. Definitely will not be returning on my own accord. The restaurant is old and just not somewhere I would get all dressed up for. The fish was pink with some jelly thing on top. Generous portion here, but lacked seasoning. I liked how the legs were cracked open and was made easier to get the meat out Beef: Very little beef for a table of 10 Fish maw soup: Barely any fish maw, it was just soup and egg whites mostly Deluxe Combination Platter: Had seaweed, jellyfish, bbq pork, cold beef and pork cuts We were all really hungry and asked the servers if there were any nuts to snack on - Dynasty staff said it's $5 for a small bowl of nuts.Īll of us were so hungry, I gave up after 1.5 hrs and ordered Salt & Pepper Tofu ($17) with less salt. Unfortunately, the event didn't start until 8pm. I figured many will be running on "Asian time" and was prepared to wait an hour before the actual event would start/food to be served. This was my first time at Dynasty and was there for the Mother's Day event with several Vietnamese artists performing for the night. Dynasty is older, you walk in to a dingy entry way and walk up a large staircase on the right to enter the main dining area. If you're from ATL, it's very similar to Happy Valley or Canton House. ![]() I only had dinner entrees, no dim sum.ĭynasty is like your typical Chinese restaurant. Let me preface my review to say this is based on my experience attending one of the many musical concerts hosted at Dynasty Restaurant. Give Dynasty a try for dim sum or seafood.ĮCK. ![]() The food was best good and the service was prompt. We had a decent experience at Dynasty Seafood Restaurant. ![]() The bok choy and mushrooms were cooked just right. The abalone (or abalone-like) dish was prepped very well. You need to ask for a fork to scoop the lobster meat out. The scallops were very small, but it makes sense so everyone sitting at the table can have scallops. The beef tenderloin and scallops was very tasty too. They should've provided oyster sauce for the roasted pig. My favorite the soy glazed cod and the crab puffs. The ambiance is Asian, with Chinese decor and a stint of elegance. Dynasty Chinese Seafood Restaurant is a gathering place for many banquets. ![]()
